The Stormwater Utility was created to provide a dedicated source of revenue for the City to improve, operate, and maintain the storm water management system.  The utility reduces and/or eliminates the need to levy taxes for storm water related projects.  Fees are charged proportionally to those people who contribute to storm water runoff and receive benefit from storm water management.

Stormwater is water that originates during precipitation events and snow/ice melt. Stormwater can soak into the soil, be held on the surface and evaporate, or runoff and end up in nearby streams, rivers, or other water bodies.
