2021 Wisconsin Statewide Tornado Drill - Thursday, April 15th

Since 2012, the statewide drill has included an Emergency Alert System (EAS) live code test, triggered by the National Weather Service and relayed to NOAA Weather Radios and Wisconsin broadcast television and radio stations. At 1:45pm and 6:45pm, anyone near a device set up to receive those alerts would see or hear a message advising them of the drill. Many communities also participate by sounding their outdoor warning sirens during the drill times. THE CITY OF MONROE WILL PARTICIPATE IN THIS DRILL ON APRIL 15TH BY SOUNDING OUR OUTDOOR SIRENS AT 1:45 PM and 6:45 PM. Read More

Green County CLEAN SWEEP Hazardous Materials Collection Program will open on May 1, 2021 and will close on October 3oth,  2021 at the Green County Landfill, W2002 County SS, Brodhead, WI.  The program will be open to receive Agriculture products as well as Household products for Green County farmers and residents. Lead Service Line Replacement Program

The City of Monroe Water Utility is working to develop a program that will replace all Publicly-and Privately- owned lead service lines that are connected to the public water system in the City of Monroe. We are working with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources with the goal of receiving public grant funding that will cover all private homeowner's costs to replace their lead service line with a new plastic line into the home. If grant funding is received, a citywide lead service line replacement program could possibly occur between 2021 and 2023. Read More

Free  Yard Waste Drop Off for City of Monroe residents will open on Thursday, April 1st at the Streets Division at 1064 5th Avenue.  It will be open Monday thru Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  There will be no attendant on site.

Yard Waste Drop Off Rules are as follows:

  1.  Bags/Boxes must be emptied onto the yard waste pile and then placed   into the barrels.
  2.  No Garbage
  3.  No Lumber
  4.  No Metal
  5.  No Furniture/Items Containing Freon
  6.  No Tires
  7.  No Plastic Pots or Containers
