City of Monroe Zoning Ordinance Rewrite Project

The City of Monroe is in the final stages of an updated Zoning Ordinance and Map. The purposes of this project is to modernize zoning regulations, streamline zoning processes, encourage reinvestment, and implement the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The process of completing the Zoning Ordinance and Map has been in process since April of 2016, with a council vote expected in August of 2018. Public input is encouraged throughout, so that the Zoning Ordinance reflects community wishes. This website is one opportunity for two-way communication on the progress and contents of the Zoning Ordinance.
